[Husker] Raymond to LSU

Andy,
Your views are pretty close to my own, but maybe a little more optimistic than me. I certainly don't THINK we are on the wrong direction, but definitely not as good as I hoped. Is Bo the right guy to win a national title at Nebraska? Not sure, but 30- 50% confident at best. For instance, in four years at NU, Bo has not won a conference title or gone to a BCS bowl. Hoke managed the latter in year 1 and will probably win the former in year 2. Tressel, Carr, Miles, Chizek, Saban, Urban, Stoops, all won national titles in their first four years at their respective programs (to be fair, Bo is the only first time head coach comparing to that group however).
Bo has hardly been a "Callahan" either. Played for conference titles for two of his four seasons and nearly won both before losing both. Recruiting has been tainted, but not an embarrassment. His recruiting classes actually reflect those brought in by Tom Osborne. So has his practice of hiring assistant coaches -- identify potential rather than hiring experience. And several of his assistants have left for higher profile jobs (Saunders, Ekler and Raymond immediately come to mind).
In other words, the verdict is still out. No reason to rush to judgement either. It took TO 20 years to put all the pieces together, Bo deserves more opportunity to find out whether he can do the same.
And I wasn't so kind in my words for Callahan before he left.
Mr. Husker

Wrong direction ? no
Room for improvement ? Certainly
As good as I hoped ? no
Am I 100% positive that Bo is the right guy ? No maybe 90%
As to Mike's point, I certainly understand Raymond leaving for his LSU. I
just hate his announcement on Friday that he was categorically uninterested
in moving to LSU. Just like the infamous vote of confidence. If Doc gets a
vote of confidence from TO, then he should start packing his bags. :-)
Off topic, I saw 4* CB Jackson from last recruiting season made his grades
and is awaiting the NCAA approval to join the team. Should be on campus this
summer.
I know Mike Marrow is a Grad Assistant, what position has he been working
with ?

I'm really curious, does anyone else besides Dave think this program is
going in the wrong direction, or that Pelini's not the guy? Dave, I
apologize if I'm mischaracterizing your views, but that's how they come off,
at any rate. And if you do feel that way, I'm curious as to why. I know
we've been over this before but it seems like there's still some unresolved
issues out there.
