Dear Huskerettes:The over supply of tickets to the Cap One Bowl is great news to me! I'm looking to purchase 2 together in a Husker section. Where would I begin looking to get the best deal?
Thanks for your response.chrissski

It is in the best interest of the bowls (and conference championship games) to
require these blocks of tickets as that is the only way the majority of these
are going to be sold in the first place. I think (or assume) the schools are
starting to see this and recognize this as part of the cost of doing business
and the price to pay for the outside marketing of the school and the additional
practices afforded the team. As for this game the combination of being so
overally matched, travel expenses, and it being in Orlando makes the appeal to
watch it anywhere but my couch extremely low. IMO, unless you have kids Orlando
is not that attractive of destination.
I do think this aforementioned cost of doing business is well worth it
considering the value of getting those additional practices. We took going to a
bowl game for granted for so long, but that consistant extra month of practices
every year
IMO was a valuable part of our reletively high consistent level of play.

Slow ticket sales may be a function of every game being on TV. I think NU
fans will attend this game at the same rate they attend every other big
away game. But folks are learning that there's a lot better way to get
tickets than from the Universities.
At some point, the schools are going to call BS on the mandatory ticket
purchase requirement and start making the bowls compete for ticket sales on
the open market.
If there's a member of a bowl committee out there who has ever said a word
about welfare, they're a hypocrite.
