[Husker] Capital One Bowl

I have been watching UGA all year.
They have been a very unpredictable team, much like the Huskers. They
pulled it together after the Kentucky game and have been playing much more
consistent football.
Offensively, they want to throw the ball. That should bode well for NU.
They tend to have big physical receivers. The qb, Murrey, is not very
mobile and prone to make poor decisions. This got better as the year went
on, but he still doesn't move around much. They are capable of running the
ball and have a big line. Gurley (Gurshall, Gurley/Hershall) is a decent
running back, but is young (freshman). They are shallow and young at
Running Back with both (2 deep!) being freshman. They do have a full
compliment of Full Backs.
Defensively, they are physical and athletic. Jarvis Jones is the highlight
at LB. They like to move him all over the field. If you can pass block to
get time, they can be thrown on. They are not particularly great (IMO) at
defensive back. They play a lot of zone. Rambo gets a lot of interceptions
and is their go to guy in the defensive backfield.
I agree we got a tough matchup, especially considering the rankings. Here
in Georgia, they are saying that the SEC lobbied the Cap One bowl to take
UGA so they could have an easy matchup.
I think despite that, NU's strengths match up well against UGA. I think NU
has one of the better defensive backfields that UGA will see, and we tend
to do well against non-mobile throwing qb's. They are not going to try to
run over us like Wisconsin did, and really don't have the running backs to
do that. They are more like some of the Big 12 offenses we worked against.
I think NU is likely one of the most potent and athletic offenses that they
will face this year. They will not be able to stack the line like they did
with Alabama and if you stretch them out they have been known to break.
Unfortunately, I think they are more consistent than us and don't turn the
ball over and make mistakes. Out on a limb prediction...NU gets 400+ yards
offensively, give up 4-5 turnovers, lose 31-17.
I hope I am very, very wrong.
