[Husker] Regular Season

I agree with almost everything you have written, except for the "other teams" part.  I don't think an athletic director could present Bo Pelini in a press conference until after another Husker game has been played.  When the last impression of Pelini is him walking off the field after surrendering 70 to Wisconsin, that's not an image that's very marketable.

Doesn't matter IMHO.  I don't believe that Bo Pelini has been out there looking for other jobs; all the speculation has been incoming...and I think that activity has now paused.

Everything else?  Spot on.  How lucky are we that we're complaining about a 10-3 season?  Or should I say, spoiled.  We wanted more, and I'm still convinced we could have had more, but it didn't happen.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't desire more and strive for more.  Just don't throw a tantrum because Santa didn't bring everything on your list.

I thought my answer was clear.  No team ever plays up to their
potential.  Or, maybe I misunderstand what you mean by plaing
up to their potential.  Maybe they always play up to their potential
and their potential is less than perfect.  I don't know what you
mean by up to their potential.  Is that clear?

There is a reason that they keep score (rather than try to figure
out who played a complete game or who played up to their potential)
--- and that reason is to know which team won and which one didn't.
In the win column, Nebraska had a good year.

It is just patently ridiculous to me that people are wondering if
NU should keep Pelini or suggest that other teams wouldn't want
to hire him after a big loss.  Nebraska has 10 victories in the
regular season --- only 10 other teams have more.  Most of the
computers rank Nebraska ~#15-16, even after this loss.  This in
a place that has a small population base, in the middle of what
many folks regard as nowhere.  You can expect and demand all you
want, but what you evidently expect is irrational.

Even Sipple's line about giving Bo the "benefit of the doubt" is
ridiculous.  Folks, winning 10 regular season games and playing in
the Big 10 Championship game is a good year.  Period.  Think about
it.  The Big 10 has Michigan, Ohio St, Penn St, and Nebraska (not
to mention 8 soon to be 10 other teams).  Those are some of the
most elite programs of all time, but year in and year out at
most half of those four elite programs are going to play in the
Conference Championship game and at least three of them aren't
going to win it.  Just making it to that game is a good year.

This has been a good year for NU football.  If you're tired of
watching after this year, which I think not only has been successful
but also has been one of the most entertaining, I'm wondering why
you continue to watch.  Yes, the last game was very disappointing,
but it was one game.  NU blew out Florida in 1995 by 38 points.  Did
they fire their coach?  No.  And, next year his team won the MNC.
NU blew out Tennessee in 1997 by 25 points.  Did they fire their
coach?  No.  And the next year his team won the MNC.  I presume
those schools had similarly irrational fans, but didn't NU fans learn
anything from the last 10 years?  I hope Bo isn't listening and/or
knows that such irrationality is limited to a minority of fans.
