Losing in the big game is one thing, getting destroyed is another.

Nah, I was stationed in Alabama for 4 years and I can assure they (Auburn) will
not look twice at Bo due to his big game failures. I think and hope Bo will
learn a ton about coaching going through this mess. It sucks but us old Husker
fans understand losing in the big game but my son (newly minted Husker fan) is
beside himself down in the wonderful place call Fort Polk. I hope George takes
us lightly and Bo somehow turns the team around and wins the bowl game. We all
hope! I will always be a Husker. It started when I was 4 and lived in Okinawa
and my father woke up the whole family to listen to the game of the century on
the Armed Forces Network. My son watched the bowl game last year from
Afghanistan with a bunch of South Carolina fans. The season was not a loss it
just feels like it right now. I have a lot of good memories of the comebacks.
I will always remember where I was when Nebraska came back to beat Michigan
State. I am just an old country boy from McCook who is in the military and
wherever I land I can still talk about the Huskers with all of my family
members. It is the only thing that unites all of us. GO BIG RED!!!

Considering that some people around Nebraska now want Pelini fired, would you
think that Auburn would still be interested after Wisconsin rerouted I-70
through Nebraska last night?

As a secondary Auburn fan...BP would be a great pick up for them.

He would have good talent at Auburn. His recruiting base is better than NU's. I
know you don't want to hear that, but the SE IS the hotbed for talent. Y'all can
fish in Texas and Cali all you want, but I would take Florida, Georgia and
Alabama any day of the week. It is not a fluke that the SEC has won the last
several National Championships.

He would be successful in the SEC if he brought the current coaches from NU. His
aggressive defensive style will fit in and he has been a winner as a DC in the
SEC. A uptempo offense that spreads the ball around would be competitive in the
SEC.

As much as y'all don't like his demeanor, he would be very competitive in the
SEC where they really don't care about that kind of stuff. They care about wins
and losses. They don't care about academics, graduation rates, or how they look
when they are winning. 10-2 is an acceptable record in the SEC and will keep you
in a job for a long time.

So for all you BP haters, I will take him off your hands. I will feel bad for
NU, but AU will be much more competitive.

Now the down side is that Auburn may be looking and some NCAA penalties for
recruiting violations under Chizik. So that may make things difficult for a
while.

Part of the problem with the speculation is that some people read "School X is
interested in Coach Y" as "Coach Y is looking to leave for school X". Sometimes
coaches do pursue open jobs, but more often than not, schools pursue coaches
than the other way around.

Now, I am on my computer to write easier. BP's name is not among the names that
have been floated as an interest for Auburn. Smart and Petrino seem to be their
top interests. Now both those names may be selected by other teams, and I
imagine AU is going to go top shelf on the pay, but I doubt BP is interested in
the AU job. He has no ties there and AU is kind of a "family" type job.

As an Auburn alum, I have not seen anything about Pelini interviewing for the

Just read this article: http://www.hogcountryonline.com/?p=7955

Looks like Boise State coach Chris Petersen is expected to be named the new
Razorbacks coach Tuesday. So the rumors just continue.

Today? None that I've heard of.

There were a few rumors last week that Auburn or Arkansas were interested. I
would imagine yesterday's game should have quieted them down. Here's what I
wrote about them yesterday, which has some links:

http://www.cornnation.com/2012/12/1/3714956/bo-pelini-leaving-nebraska-chapter-6-auburn-and-tennessee

The rumors seemed more like a wish list by some people associated with these
schools than any expression of interest from Pelini.

It would be a very bold move for Pelini to go out interviewing under these
circumstances, and if it becomes public knowledge that he's doing that, he'd
better get that job...

Has anyone heard anything about this today?

Heard that Bo asked permission from TO to speak with both Auburn and Arkansas on
the radio, not sure if it was

FOX or ESPN Radio but TO gave permission.

Thanks,
