David, I'm with you, but this game shows all the weaknesses we saw at times
all season long being exposed one after another. The offense looks confused
and the defense looks even more confused. That's more than just a performance
issue, it's a coaching issue.

How to fix things is the challenge that Bo has to solve, if not tonight or
for whatever bowl the Huskers go to, then for next season. And that could
mean some changes in the assistant coaches.

Bo gets a big paycheck (more in a year than most of us will make in a lifetime),
and with that goes the responsiblity for making hard calls. And if he can't
make the hard calls and make them work, then at some point there's an
even harder call to be made higher up the pecking order. Not this year,
and most likely not next year, either. (Although keep in mind that as
of January 2nd he will have a new boss, one who didn't hire him.)

But at least Bo's name may not come up quite as often during the silly season
(which has already started, Northern Illinois just lost their head coach to
NC State.)

The Wisconsin Band appears to be outplaying the Husker Band, too. But a big
lead definitely puts more kick in your steps.
