[Husker] Hello Mike...is the listserv operational?

Lots of optomism preseason. With few exceptions, I think most schools are
viewing their preseason status similarly...less PSU and perhaps OSU. The
talking heads like to rev up the positive evaluations.
We went into last season expecting the other conference teams were going to have
to learn how to handle us. That was a rather mis-guided perception. I hope we
have truly learned from last year, have made the appropriate personnel
adjustments (and coaching strategies), and can stay quite healthy. I am not
looking for a better W-L record at this time. 'Sure hope I'm wrong again!

It has been pretty quiet, considering we're just 3 Saturday's from the
first game of the season. BTN just ran a half hour preview of the
Huskers (Iowa was first, and Minnesota followed us), one of our
starting OL tackles is taking the semester off, apparently. and we
snagged a potential great defensive back from Auburn (with potential
problems). I thought there'd be more juice flowing after that, but
its been quiet. Are we still hung up on Penn State?
Just as a take on the BTN preview, they like our linebackers, and
really, really like our defensive line, and like our defensive
backfield. They like our tight ends and our running backs, they hedge
on Martinez, and worry about our offensive line. Overall the report
was favorable, but they didn't discuss the depth at running backs
beyond Burkhead, or the depth we have on the OLine (except to mention
it), or the depth at linebacker. I'm pretty excited about this
season; I expect a lot out this team. I think the first two games
will be a good look at what we can do. I hope its all good.
