I'm skeptical of those numbers, since it suggests that Northwestern is less
likely to beat Nebraska than Minnesota. I'm assuming that Nebraska gets
a slight bump as the home team against Northwestern and Minnesota gets one
against Nebraska.
It may all depend on whether Dan Persa is fully recovered from his ruptured
Achilles heel and whether Martinez can stay healthy.
Northwestern has done very well against Iowa in recent years, and I
think they're the only Big Ten team with a three game winning streak
against Iowa in Iowa City.
The Big Ten has a long history of having teams knock each other out of
the National Championship picture, I think it will continue to be very difficult
for any team to get through the conference schedule undefeated most years,
maybe even harder with the Huskers in the mix.
The Big Ten conference championship game could prove to be as problematical
as the Big 12's conference championship game was to Nebraska.
