I think that there is SOOO much public speculation and denial swimming 
around and no one REALLY knows what is going on in the background. If 
you were a conference bigwig, would you invite the media frenzy that 
saying "oh well yeah, we're looking at some teams to join our 
conference" would rain down? Nah.

As Dave Letterman says, "I wouldn't wish those troubles on a monkey on a 
rock".

Like a road accident, you just can't look away, but I'm sure glad the NU 
is not part of the speculation.
