This sounds like one of those "If you're interested, we're interested"
understanding, not a formal offer.  

There's an interesting article on ESPN's blogs, suggesting that the
Big Ten may just sit tight until the dust settles and the two teams
left standing are Texas and Notre Dame, who have nowhere else to go.

However, there's a story that just got posted on ESPN that says the 
Pac-12 is still saying 'no expansion'.  

Can this marriage still be saved if OU and Texas make nice with 
each other?  Do they have any other choice?

But it sounds like Dan Beebe better start polishing up his resume,
one way or another.
