[Husker] kick reception interference

So the announcers yesterday really made a big deal about the
interference calls against UW--especially the first one. Part of
the rule they read mentioned that the defense cannot impede the
receiver from catching the ball. They noted that no UW player had
touched the receiver, but if a player from the kicking team is
standing in the place where the ball is coming down, isn't that
impeding the receiver from making the catch?
The announcers noted that there is no longer a halo, but even
without a halo the receiver should be allowed to get into the
position needed to make the catch. Granted, the NU player tripped
over a teammate and was somewhat off balance, but even so he seemed
to be prevented from getting to the appropriate fielding location by
the presence of a UW player.
On that basis, it seemed to be at least a not unreasonable call.
