The daily afternoon show is pretty good. They have been spending a lot of time on the conference realignment stuff. The morning show is Steve Czaban. I have not listened a lot in the evenings. I like the Saturday afternoon stuff a lot.

The more I listen to Yahoo Sports Radio the more I like. The purchase of Sporting News Radio by Yahoo was a good buy and the changes they have made are great. AM 900 in Columbus carries them on Saturdays, but that's the only local affiliate I can find, and that's a bit staticy here in Omaha. I wish a local station would pick them up (hint-hint 1620!!!!!). For now I'll listen on the internet.

I'm going to try that. When 1620 dropped ESPN and went to Fox Sports this year, I had no idea what I was going to be listening to. The two goons that follow Unsportsmanlike Conduct (Petros and Money) are almost unlistenable (if that's a word - my on-line editor says its not). From the website bio's:
"Petros Papadakis and Matt
"Money" Smith are the future of sports talk radio. While the trunk of
their tree is sports, the branches and roots are everything that is men. The eclectic sound of 30-something duo is re-writing the rules of
sports talk radio, as they deliver a whole new level of entertainment to Men 18-49."
If that's the future, the future is looking pretty dismal. I mean, I get the whole "entertainment to Men" thing. When I hear them, I get the mental image of two dumpy, ex-jock 30-somethings, sitting in their garages in their underwear, digging and scratching, and babbling about nothing in particular. And I have to ask myself, is this what it takes to make it on radio these days?
So, thanks, Quinn. I'm going to try to pick up on Yahoo and see what's happening there.
