[Husker] Student tickets

There is a problem with that approach...where do we get the inventory of tickets to expand the student section? This will be the fiftieth season of sellouts at Nebraska. Who gives up their seats when more freshmen than in past years decide to go to the games?

The reason why students don't have more tickets is because they frequently don't show up.  Remember the empty student sections in 2007 and 2008?  There are some logistical issues with student seating who's interest in the games wanes from week to week.

Personally, I'd rather have the problem of not enough tickets for freshmen than what happened at Wisconsin last night, where large sections of Camp Randall sat empty.

I agree that every student should have the opportunity to get a ticket to
the games. Maybe something like this.   Each student should be allotted one
season ticket.  They have a certain timeframe to pick up their ticket.  They
go, show their ID, and get their ticket.  If they don't show up within that
time frame, then they forfeited their ticket and it goes back into the
pool.  Timeframes for pickup could be based on senior, junior, soph, frosh.
You only are eligible 4 times.

Now I am sure there are lots of problems with the above.  I really didn't
think it through very well.  But I'm on board that in a perfect world, every
student should have the opportunity to get a ticket.  And I guess I don't
think they should be able to resell them.  If the ticket and the student ID
don't match the person presenting them, they should be turned away.  At
least I think so, I'm sure there are two sides to this.
