Is it just me, or has anyone else wondered about the defensive woes and is it a direct link to the coaching changes. I looked at the last 4 games yesterday and I have to say they are playing hard but not aggressive. They really seam hesitant at linebacker (except David) and secondary (including Dennard). Last year even Evans played well under Sanders. He was beat a few times, but most of the time had good coverage. This year a lot of times they aren't even within 4 feet of the receivers. Makes me wonder are they being coached the same? I have a hard time beleiving Sanders departure isn't really showing up in performance. Linebackers, is it me or is Compton really over rated. He might know the defenses but even I can over run or miss the whole and run into 300 LB lineman and get knocked on my you know what. As for the D-Line, I love how JP is recruiting but their is a huge drop in performance, and not just numbers. I have noticed repeatedly high pad level and them getting pancaked a lot and most times it wasn't because of double teams . I don't remember that last year much at all unless double teams. Just my observations but I really think a lot of this is position coaching changes. Conversely, on the offensive side of the ball. The new receivers coach I think is a home run and doing a great job with young inexperienced players. What do you all think? Kent in Phoenix.
