I don't think it NEEDED much of an apology.

He may have stepped over the line a little, but he didn't say anything
about TM's performance and status as the starting QB that a number 
of people didn't post to this forum and a lot more people thought 
about saying, here or elsewhere.  (And I think a number of people
said it far better than he did, too.  Dirk seldom impresses me with
either his writing or his analysis.)  

Had the Husker kept losing, at some point a decision to change QBs
might have been made, because that's one of the things that coaches
do to try to turn things around.  

Tom Osborne said it best years ago when he said that if a team is
winning, the head coach and the starting quarterback get way too much
of the credit, and if the team is losing then they get way too much
of the blame.

I doubt that Bo and Dirk are going to become golfing buddies, though.
