Back when I used to do Oracle programming plus a little writing for 
the trades and went to various Oracle conferences, I heard a lot 
of stories about Larry.  However, the one time I was at his table at a 
press luncheon the conversation over lunch was fascinating and his 
manners were impeccable.  Of course, the guy sitting next to me was
a writer from the Wall Street Journal and someone from CNBC was also
there.  

A few weeks later, though, he completly forgot about his scheduled
appearance at an Oracle developer conference, and left us all sitting 
in the room for an hour waiting.  (Heard some interesting stories during
THAT hour.)

BTW, more than a few people hired (and often later chased off) by Larry
have similar personalities, but not the bank account.
