[Husker] Coach vs. Media (was News Conference)

A friend at work (tOSU fan) mentioned the OSU fatigue. His "view" of it was "if Miller didn't go out, defense wouldn't have been so tired and OSU would have won."
Watching the shortened version of the game again on ESPNU and on Big Ten Network, I changed my original opinion of "horrible" Nebraska play in the first half. We weren't that bad, OSU was just doing a better job on D than our O line was. Midway through the 3rd quarter that changed, and the change was happening BEFORE Miller went out from what I saw. The quick pace was wearing them down.
That said, our D needs work. Besides our young backs, what is wrong with the D line? With everyone keying on Crick you'd think some of the other guys (Meredith!) could step up big, that doesn't seem to be happening at all, at least not often. What aren't we being told?

I did notice that also -- I think a major part of it had to do with the offensive tempo the offense was using. Things seems to really pick up as the game went along!

Ohio State was muscling us all over the place up to near the end of the second quarter when we finally started seeing a lot of their guys standing around between plays with hands-on-hips . . . a sure sign of looming fatigue. The halftime recuperation wore off for them five minutes or so into the third and that's when we started looking like Huskers again.
