This part bugs me because here you're making the assumption / placing the
blame on Bo for Green transferring and that he was counting on Bubba
(hoping-yes, counting on-I HIGHLY doubt that). Plus, I know of other
situations where Nebraska had two QB's on scholarship and had to revert to a
walk-on to play. So while it's scary it's certainly not unheard of in
Nebraska's case. Turner has spent some time at QB and could be pressed into
service if needed there. How much dead weight do you want on the roster at
QB? They AREN'T like running backs who play on special teams, etc. Why do
you think Green transferred, likely because he knew he wasn't going to get
much playing time.
TM was an easy target for Dirk. When you compare TM's stats to some of the
other Nebraska QB's AND the fact that he doesn't have the O-line that
Frazier, Frost or even Crouch had, that makes it even more remarkable what
TM's has accomplished as a very inexperienced QB compared to them. And who
were the 3rd stringers behind all those guys???
Bo didn't take the high road and I'm not going to defend him. But Dirk's
column wasn't defensible in my book either.
GBR,
Jay
