[Husker] Non-expert opinions

Skip,

Yes, watching the Lions for the last 41 years has definitely turned me into
a pessimist. The last time they won a championship, my wife of 39 years was
a 7 year old sitting on her Dad's lap at the game. They won the last 4 games
last year and all the preseason games this year so I figured this year will
be different. Last week when they were down 20-0 to the Vikings I turned
the game off thinking "same old Lions". I turned them off again this week
when the score was 27-3 Dallas. Can you believe they won both of those
games? If this isn't proof positive that miracles happen, I don't know what
is! Pessimism developed over 40 years is hard to turn around.

This isn't necessarily Husker related but I know bad and really bad
football. The Huskers are not a bad team but they are playing mediocre
football (in my opinion). I'd bet 1 month's salary (I'm retired-Hah!) that
no one on this list has watched as much bad football as I have (and I'm not
proud of that).

It's great to wear "rose colored glasses" but after 5 games (1 short of
mid-season) you need to re-evaluate your expectations.

Hey Don,

Did you develop that pessimism while following the Lions for all those
years?

But wait! They're 4-0 so far this season, behind Mr. Suh, Mr. Vanden
Bosch, Mr. Raiola, and all the other non-huskers. :-)
