[Husker] Non-expert opinions

"Someone else"???

I don't think there is anybody named Else on the roster.

Seriously, Pelini has a history of not fearing making a switch if he thinks that there is another player on the roster who would play better.  Even at quarterback.  But there is the problem:  I don't think there is somebody better on the roster.  Otherwise, I think we would have seen him by now.

This isn't a personal attack on Taylor Martinez, but rather a short critique
on his demonstrated QB playing abilities...

At some point, T-Magic's tunnel vision will be his downfall --- at least as
far as starting QB goes. The kid is not the answer at QB.  He rarely sets
his feet prior to a throw leading to his inaccurate passing. His downfield
reads are terrible... he couldn't hit water if he fell out of the boat.

And, I don't think that he can take a full season of punishing hits from
defenders. It's time to seriously look at the QB depth chart. I hate to say
it, but Beck and Pelini need to bench the kid and give someone else a
chance... maybe a 2-man rotation or something to develop others and preserve
#3 for occasional play.

If you think that benching him is 'throwing him under the bus", then
remember what it felt like to get steamrolled by a Badger locomotive.

Go Big Red!

Hi Don, one of the good things about the Michigan game is that Pelini will
have tape (and painful memories) of the Wisconsin kid to come up with a plan
to stop Robinson, whether it works or not remains to be seen. As for #3, he
should be lining up in the slot at receiver, he has no business throwing a
football. I know others on the list would disagree and say give the kid more
chances, but I think it was pretty obvious what a college quarterback should
look like by watching the game Saturday and it wasn't Nebraska's.

>>>D. Robinson
will cut them to pieces when they play UM.  He is just as good a passer as
the WU QB and runs like a deer on steroids.
