Just a note, Pelini brothers recruited Gomes out of J.C.  and they did a
good job convincing (you could say recruiting) Suh to stay.

I don't see much difference between this defense and the Cosgrove ones.  It
all comes down to players.  The Pelini Bros inherited some outstanding
defensive players in Suh, Prince A., Gomes, etc.  These players made them
out to be defensive geniuses. Now they are playing with their recruits.
These recruits are not as talented.  A defensive genius to me would be
coaches that turn good recruits into great players.  An average coach can
turn great talented recruits into great players.  A lousy coach can turn
great talented players into poor players. The backs bite on too many fakes
and don't have the speed to recover.  Crick has been living on his
performance during Suh's senior year.  He should share his signing bonus
with Suh (if he gets drafted).  He is a very good player but not of Suh's
caliber.  The linemen play power defense.  The OL's lead them away from the
play leaving huge holes for the LB's to fill.  When was the last time you
saw a spin move?  The fundamentals (tackling, ball control, discipline,
etc.) are terrible.  That's on the coaches as far as I'm concerned. 

This very average Husker team continues the trend that started during the
last 4 games of last season.  I'll be happy with a 4 and 4 record against
the BIG.  I see three wins and at least two more losses. The other two are
toss ups.   Dennard Robinson is going to have a heyday against this defense.
Yes I'm a pessimist.   

Does anyone know what type of arm Turner has?  If he is an average passer,
I'd have him start practicing for a move to QB next season.  Martinez should
be moved to safety where you don't have to pass or hold on to the football.
