[Husker] Has there ever been a worse defense on 3rd down?

I agree 100%.

I have been thinking about this way too much over the past several hours and
have a couple thoughts.

Offensively, we don't quite no who we are. We are not an option team, but we
are not a west coast team. So we have a perfect QB for that offense, because
he is neither. That sounds mean, but it is not meant to.

I remember the talking heads a couple weeks ago saying the the coaches had
tried to work with TM on his thowing motion, but he wasn't comfortable with
changing it. That fits with my comment, if your not interested in fixing the
throwing motion your not usually going to be a good passer. Yet, he doesn't
protect the ball well, nor does he read the option well.

Defensively, we are in a state of change. BP built a defense to compete in
the Big 12 with multiple teams that run the spread offense. He was
successful in developing that package, but then we changed the rules of the
game on him. That team last night was not a spread offense. Linebackers are
less important in defensing the spread (so we created the Peso), They are
very important in stopping a team like Wisconsin. I don't think it is a
coincidence that some are talking about the linebackers. I think we might be
better suited to compare this years defense to Bo's first year with the team
than last year.
