I'm pretty sure that if you asked a random sampling of Nebraska fans, about 90% of them would tell you they didn't like Callaclown. Attending every home game in 2007 was enough to tell me that he wasn't liked by the vast majority of the fanbase.

If your good friend only saw weaknesses in nebraskas program after the norhtwestern game this year then he must have been living under a rock for the last decade. I can think of about 10 losses just as embarassing and most of them were under callahan.

You are wrong about BC not being likeable. I never had the opportunity to
meet BC but I can tell you that my best man knows him well and said he and
his family are some of the nicest people he has had the opportunity to know
and associate with. Based on his success as a head coach in the NFL and
college I'd have to agree that he was not cut out to be a head coach;
however, he is very well respected and sought after OC in the NFL. I'm not
unhappy that BC has been replaced by BO; however, the number of people on
the BO Bandwagon amazes me.

My good friend has coached HS football for most of his adult life here in
Howell, MI. He told me that he used to love Husker Football because of its
consistent excellence, sound fundamentals, toughness, and traditions. The
Monday after the Northwestern game I was in his shop and the first thing he
said to me was "What the h_ll has happened to Husker Football!?" I said
"What do you mean"? He said "They looked like a bunch of guys playing touch
football on Sunday afternoon. They looked like they really didn't give a
rats behind. Very little emotion, poor blocking and tackling, dropped
balls, fumbles, etc." After the MI game, I asked him what he thought was
wrong with Husker FB. He said "Coaching! Good one week, bad the next is
all on the coaches. They don't know how to get the players ready to play."

You're assuming that the Former Coach Who Shall Not Be Named was
likeable or a good head coach, I would suggest that neither was the case.
