Pelini is a singularly unlikeable individual
nd a poor head coach. He wants to be a head coach but only act like a
oordinator.
Really? I have heard some people really like him (his players especially) and nine win seasons seem to not say "Poor head coach". Iowa's coach is mentioned every year as the next best thing in the NFL - but can't muster that many wins in college. I think Bo has grown alot - do I wish his press conferences were not so hard to watch? yes of course, but I hope in a few years he will even get better. I don't see a ton of coaches out there
that can live up to your expectations. The Big 10 is a much different animal than the Big 12 - and we haven't even played a snow game yet!

One thing that was clear from the article (and backs up what I had heard)
was the while Pelini wasn't on the 'hot seat' some rumblings were certainly
making the rounds among top boosters.
Anyhow, I thought it was a good piece.
Oh I imagine there is some doubt and unrest among the boosters. Quite a
it in fact. Not everyone is on board with the "I don't care how Bo acts
s long as he wins games". Pelini is a singularly unlikeable individual
nd a poor head coach. He wants to be a head coach but only act like a
oordinator. Managing the press, the fans, the boosters, etc. is beyond
im. Now while lots of folks may have Jon's attitude that "I don't give a
amn!" how he acts, it is probably going to hurt us in the long run if it
urns out his behavior costs us players. You don't think Pelini has a
eputation that high schools kids know about? Of course he does, they know
verything. And I am pretty certain that the opposition in direct
ecruiting battles will be sure to use that. All those videos on Youtube
f Crazy Bo are being shown to players....and their parents. And parents
ave quite a bit of say about where their kids go to college. In the next
ew years, Pelini will be playing with his own recruits. We'll see.
ecause if you don't have players, what you do have doesn't matter.
