[Husker] Nebraska @ Northwestern - 2012 and thoughts on Iowa

What fan would not want to see this game at Soldier Field? I think that is is a great idea.

As for the game against Iowa, it was a solid win for Nebraska. It is too bad that they could not pitch a shut out, but what a great way to send the seniors out. I like them playing Iowa as the final game of regular season. It is a good cross river rivalry and feels less contrived than Nebraska vs Colorado.

Nebraska looked a lot better on special teams and over came a few terrible calls. They did a solid job all the way around. While I thought that score would have higher, it looks like once Nebraska was up by 20 points, they pulled the reigns back a bit. It shows respect that Coach Pelini has for Iowa. He has another 9 win season so far and if they can win their bowl game, it was his third 10 win season in row.

An early projection has them play Arkansas in the Capital One Bowl. This would be an interesting game. Another projection has them in the Outback Bowl. Either way it looks like Nebraska will be playing in Florida in January.

First season in the B1G has been good, not great (they needed to make the championship game for that). Nebraska will do well in their new conference.
