Dear Husker List Members:

I hope that you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving and were all satisfied with
the W against Iowa yesterday. I read that replacing Kansas with Iowa was a
scheduling coup, of sorts. Different bird, same result. So, Nebraska wins
the trophy and Iowa has to keep Carter Lake for another year. OK, STOP IT.
Anyway, the extra days of practice leading up to the bowl game will be
useful in defining depth for 2012.

On 20OCT2012, Nebraska plays at Northwestern. The game is currently
scheduled to be played at Ryan Field. This venue holds ~47,000 (which is
the smallest stadium in the Big Ten).

What are the chances that the game will be moved to another venue, such as
Soldier Field? Soldier Fields holds ~ 61,000. If ticket prices were around
USD 70~75, then the revenue increase would be about USD 1M. It's early
enough in the season to not be too cold and late enough to not be stifling.

Soldier Field has been interested in college games. I believe that they bid
on the conference championship game. In 2010, they hosted
Illinois-Northwestern. This year, they hosted No Illinois-Wisconsin. Next
year, No Illinois-Iowa on 01SEP2012 and Notre Dame-Miami to meet in Chicago,
too on 06OCT2012.

Just wondering how excited people would be about an NU-NU meeting @ Soldier
Field . . . ?
