When 9 win regular seasons are considered only 'average', and 8 win seasons
are considered 'poor', a coach is only one reasonably good season (by 
most other standards) away from being on the hot seat.  

I disagreed with firing Solich (which IMHO wasn't for 'football' reasons),
I agreed with firing Bill Whatshisname and his boss, Steve 
NoTraditionsAreSacred, and there are so many things wrong with even 
THINKING of firing Bo that I won't try to list them.

Ohio State is apparently going after Urban Meyers.  Be careful what you
wish for!  Far too many writers are suggesting that Penn State should
make a pitch to lure Pat Fitzgerald away from Northwestern.   I kind of
wonder if someone isn't going to make a play for Paul Rhodes at Iowa
State, the last coach from Iowa State who was lured away did pretty
well, as I recall.
