Below is a link to a short piece at Huskers.com about the team preparing for the game atmosphere for Saturday. It quotes Ron Brown as saying there was 117,00 people in the stadium. The official capacity is 106,572.

This whole thing still seems unbelievable to me. What is most clear to me is my recollection of 2002 when we played at PSU. The Huskers were beat by a wide margin on the score board.
I was told by a Husker cheerleader who attended the game, that PSU Security approached the cheer leading squad with over six minutes remaining in the game.
Security told them that they wanted to escort them from the field. The cheerleaders said that they always stay until the game is over. PSU Security informed the cheerleaders that they couldn't guarantee the cheerleaders' safety if they waited until the game was over. The cheerleaders were escorted from the field early.
Thus, I have major concerns about the game Saturday...regarding personal safety of those present.

Uncharted territory! My guess the slot is just vacated on the schedule.
However, I have no idea how you rectify that in the standings if other teams have played more games than Nebraska and Penn State. The other alternative is that Penn State forfeits the game to Nebraska, but that hardly seems fair either....There is no good solution here. Maybe they can play the game in an empty stadium?
It seems trivial to even talk about this...what a sad situation!
