This was going to be a tough game, now with all that is going on Nebraska is in for a tough fight.
The game is winnable. Nebraska needs to stay committed to the running game. If the tail back is being stopped at, near, or behind the line of scrimmage then Nebraska needs to have a lead blocker to help spring the tailback free. A leading blocker would also serve a good change up a la Cory Schlesinger in the 1995 Orange Bowl.
The defense will need to apply pressure to the quarterback. And the special teams will need to get big returns and contain the other team. Hopefully, all the kick offs will be touch backs.
As for the tragic and horrific events that have struck Penn State, we should remember the victims in what ever way we find most appropriate. We have faced our share of issues. Fortunately, nothing this egregious.
While I can understand why some are calling for canceling the game, actually doing so will not serve any productive purpose. If Sandusky were actively coaching, then it would be a different situation. It does look as if the Penn State officials were worried more about Penn State's reputation than protecting the victims.
In times of tragedy, we often turn to sports to help us heal. We can honor the victims by being respectful to the current Penn State players.
This one will be close.
Nebraska 17
Penn State 14
Go Big Red!
