Actually, I do think it's a "Penn State 'thing.'" Sandusky was allowed
unfettered access to the football offices after 2002 when the grad
assistant reported the deviant behavior to Joe Pa. Paterno "is" Penn State
and he has overall responsibility for the football program. I agree that
the players are not involved, but I have a hard time believing none of the
other coaches were unaware of what was going on. This will be debated for
years in both the criminal and civil courtrooms.
Dirk Chatelain has a pretty column this morning. He thinks the game should
be cancelled. It won't happen, but I can't argue with his logic:

Makes you appreciate how Tom Osborne went out -- one or two years too early
rather than a year too late.
