Sure it is, the media and by extension politicians will have far more
influence on how this plays out than the Pennsylvania Attorney General's
office does.

Right now one big question is whether Paterno will be allowed to finish
the season. (50-50, I suspect.)

I also suspect Graham Spanier's days are numbered, former Pennsylvania
Governor Tom Ridge has already been mentioned as a possible replacement.
(Universities are turning to politicians rather than academics for
leadership when the s*** hits the fan, because the politicians have
far more experience dealing with an increasingly hostile media.)

Even the Penn State Board of Trustees may be shaken up. The Governor
of Pennsylvania will be at their next meeting, he won't be there to sit
and listen quietly.

Replacing Paterno was always going to be a challenge, now it'll be
an even bigger one. I doubt any of the current coaches will be
his replacement, unless he's forced out before the end of the season,
and then only as an interim coach until they can bring in someone to
clean house. (Having no President and no AD will complicate matters.)

I will be surprised if any of those coaches are working in Happy Valley
next fall, even ones who had no knowledge of the situation until
the past few days.
