I know an Omaha World-Herald reporter has broached the subject of a game cancellation.
If Joe Paterno goes, others may go as well. Penn State's wide receivers coach apparently was the person who originally reported the problem to JoePa. The uproar is so high in Pennsylvania that anything is possible at this point

I have not seen any credible media reports on that either, and such a move
might only make things worse for Penn State.
I have little doubt that there have been calls on various blogs
and twitter for such a reaction. I've even seen emails suggesting
that the NCAA should give Penn State the 'death penalty' for this.
