[Husker] NU vs NU and the remainder of the season

I had the game against Northwestern on upset alert. This is a young team and they had a big win against MSU the weekend before.

Now we will see what kind of character this team has. They could pull a Penn State and drop the remainder of their games, or they could come out motivated and win out. Personally, I believe that they will come out motivated and win out. Nebraska has a good coaching staff. They are still figuring out the Big-10 and the coaching changes made for this season, they are also working through these differences. Yes, the season is almost over, but the we fans have to admit that the move to the Big-10 was done quickly and Nebraska still had to compete in the Big-XII last season. So have patience true believers, things will be get better.

As Mike Nolan posted yesterday, Nebraska is still in it even though they need help. It is interesting to me to what looked like a win team Leaders division has been opened up. Looking at the season objectively, the Legends division was a toss up between Nebraska, Michigan State, and Iowa with Michigan a wild card. This division has gone pretty much as I thought it would. Although I thought that Nebraska would beat Northwestern. The Burkehead fumble hurt a lot as it would have changed the game. I felt that Northwestern's drive to score 21 points was the one that really hurt Nebraska. I thought the Cassidy interception would turn the momentum, but it did not happen.

This has been a good first season for Nebraska in the Big-10.

Nebraska dropped to about where I thought they would.

They just need to take it one game at a time, and they will do fine.

As for the dropped passes in Saturday's game, this has been a problem for Nebraska last season and this season. I know that the quarterback (Taylor Martinez) gets blasted by the football talking heads, but the receivers have a lot to answer for as well. The receivers are a lot better this season than they were last season.

As I said at the beginning of this email, now we will see what kind of character this team has.
