[Husker] Positive Thoughts

Rex might have been gassed or dinged up a bit from the Michigan State game, but the bigger issue was the lack of openings for him to run through. I thought our O line play was abysmal in the running game, our coaching questionable (if Rex was gassed, why not put one of our 3 very fresh-legged freshmen in once in awhile?).

I heard Kyler Reed also has been struggling with an injury...some type of muscle pull, so that kind of explains why we didn't see him much either.

Our D line struggled greatly, but then we ARE missing Crick, Randle and now Rome. It's starting to take its toll, and its not like they were shutting anyone down before all these injuries.

I thought the crowd was good. I was at the game and it seemed like they really, really wanted to cheer this team to victory. Just didn't happen.

Disheartening loss. This was a team that gave up over 300 yards rushing the previous week. We barely get over a hundred. And we're a running team.

That wind was wicked on the field. Martinez's passing day might be the only bright spot in the game. Impressive with that kind of wind, and even more impressive when you realize he delivered at least 3 more balls that should have been caught. Again, it comes down to coaching. Beck should have realized sooner that the passing game was working, the running game wasn't. By the time he did (basically desperation time at that point to try to score with not much time left on the clock) it was too late.
