Well, I don't think pinching yourself will work.  You need to get your
personal token out to make sure you're not still asleep.  Like the
small top that Dicaprio used to spin on the table top.  If it stopped
spinning, he was really awake.

I personally think this was demonstration of spirit or automatic
writing where the person goes into a trance and let spirits write
through him.  You can get into the trance with the proper
administration of spirits (at least a quart of grain alcohol would do
- maybe that's why they call it spirit writing).  Unfortunately for
Cee, he must have channeled an idiot spirit who can't spell.  Or make
sense.
