A Michigan State cow-orker of mine saw something unusual on TV Saturday -
Nebraska students took off their shoes and put them on their hands.
Anybody know what the significance of that gesture is?
Also, off topic, but longtime List member Rod Krogh (no1husker at aol.com) was
seriously injured in a car accident in Lincoln on Thursday; details are at
www.caringbridge.org/visit/rodkrogh. I returned last night from Lincoln,
where I was able to spend time with Rod's wife Dawn and their families, and
met fellow List member Dr. Doug Martin, a fraternity brother and another
dear friend of Rod's, at the hospital.
If you are so inclined, prayers and good thoughts for Rod's recovery are
appreciated.

A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring
one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their
own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the
mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of
good government... - Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address
