Has anyone seen Bo's contract. I recall several years ago reading B.C.'s.
Certainly, the picture should clear more after 19 August (or whenever the NCAA
has their hearings), but I thought it would be interesting to see if there is a
provision in Bo's contract that pertains to OSU specifically.
Thanks,
Roger Lohr-Mpls

Here's the latest...
Bo Pelini's statement:
“Jim Tressel is an outstanding football coach and a good man,” Pelini said in a
statement Monday. “I’ve followed and respected his career since his days at
Youngstown State, and through his tremendous success at Ohio State the past
decade. He will be missed in college football.”

Urban Meyer's statement:
"I am committed to ESPN and will not pursue any coaching opportunities this
fall. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the people at ESPN this spring and
remain very excited about my role with the network this fall.
"Jim Tressel has been a respected friend and colleague for a long time. I wish
Jim and his family the very best now and in the future."

That statement alone should tell you why Ohio State went the interim route...

You have to think OSU has been quietly considering its options for the
last few weeks, and that the choice they took today (naming an interim
inside coach) was what they thought was the best of a rather ugly set
of choices.
And if Sports Illustrated is getting ready to run a story with a lot
of new facts in it, this gives them SOME influence on the tone of
that story (assuming it isn't already on press), or at least the spin
on it afterwards.
I also suspect Tressel will get a generous settlement from OSU,
because it is in OSU's best interests to keep him from getting really
pissed off at his (former) employer, since both will end up on the
same side of the table with the NCAA on the other side later this year.
