[Husker] -- SPAM --Re: Huskers in the lead for Bubba Starling?

He will be on campus in a few weeks for summer conditioning and 7-on-7 drills
with the other quarterbacks and receivers. So the circus will be arriving in
Lincoln...though the NU rule that players aren't available to the media until
after they've played in a game may mitigate that.

Heh, there's no doubt the author is playing to the crowd. That being said,
I'm really not a 'hype' guy, but I believe 110% that he is absolutely worth
every effort to get and keep him in Lincoln. But I'm probably the only guy
in Nebraska that would be more excited to see him in a baseball uniform than
football pads.

6'5" 200lbs (with PLENTY of frame for 20 more lbs), a canon of an arm, runs
and electronically timed 4.36, says the right things, does the right
things....it's worth the effort IMO.

But who knows, maybe I've just succumbed to the hype. I don't think so tho,
based on all the videos I've watched and the reports I've heard from
credible sources.

He may leave for the MLB on August 15th, but seriously, it's not like he's
hurting Nebraska (outside of fan's desperation for information) by waiting
to see what the MLB has to offer.

So all that being said, why is he a distraction? I mean I don't think he's
hurting the football team at all (it's not like he's on campus). It may be
a bit of a distraction during fall camp because he will be there and the
question will be asked, but I don't think it would be that much. Maybe I'm
missing something, but I don't understand why he would be a distraction?

Nice article, great manipulation of a starving fan base by McKewon who does
that better than anyone, but I honestly wonder if Starling is more
distraction than he's worth.

The next great quarterback is always the next great quarterback until he
gets on the field and loses a game. Did I say Martinez? Oh. Did I need to?
