Some Einstein at Nebraska (apparently named Michael Stephens) decided to name
the Nebraska vs. Iowa game to be the "Heroes Game".

The concept is to honor a resident of Nebraska and Iowa before each matchup; the
game will be sponsored by Hy-Vee Supermarkets. A trophy is still being designed,
and will be unveiled on game day.

All in all, it's a pretty lame concept. At least they didn't rip off the
"Farmageddon" tag from the Kansas State/Iowa State series, like some people on
the east side of the Missouri River.

There's a problem with trying to "create" a rivalry: it's not natural.
Rivalries take time to develop, and trying to force it on people simply doesn't
work. Nebraska fans resisted the concept of Colorado being a "rival",
especially since Colorado has been more down than up since the Big XII was
formed. Same thing here. Let the series play itself out, and if it's going to
become a rivalry, it'll naturally develop.

I don't think someone set out to create the Michigan/Ohio State series. I don't
think someone started the other rivalries in the Big Ten with the concept and
trophy.

This one is just as lame as the "Legends"/"Leaders" crap.
