FW: [Husker] NU v TTU

That WAS an extemely ugly performance.  NU lost it late.  A game that shouldn't have been that close.  Tech wins by one on a follow shot with :04 left.  NU's Brandon Richardson gets fouled shooting a three with 11-seconds to play and the Huskers down 2.  He makes all three to give NU a one point lead.  Unfortunately, Doc gets caught with the same five guards/wing players that he had on the floor when they were working for Richardson's three-point attempt.  Tech misses a shot, but crash the boards and put it back in the hole for the 72-71 win.  NU's desperation heave … ball game.  

 

Obviously, Nebraska had a lot of players that didn't meet expectations.  Jeter and Richardson supplied the bulk of the scoring.  Defensively, there was one guy from Tech that you KNEW going into the game you couldn't let get on a roll from behind the arc -- John Roberson.  Of course, uncharisteristically shoddy defense let's Roberson go off for about seven or eight three point buckets aaaaand …. thud.

 

Win, and you're firmly planted in the league's upper-division about 30 percent of the way through the conference schedule.  Lose, and it's a same song, who-knows-how-many verses of a let-down performance in a game the Huskers should have won as expectations were beginning to rise … sufferin' succotash.
