I was watching ESPN today and Robert Smith brought up the fact that the FBI would thorough and that is why nothing has been said or done.

Yes, I don't know that they are still involved. They came in early when Cam's father was denying the allegations. They were investigating extortion and the "agent" that was representing Cam. Also the agent was under investigation my the Mississippi law enforcement because they have laws down here regarding paying athletes.

I think these things were dropped when the Cam's father admitted the contact. Then the NCAA swept it under the rug...for now. They could not find any money that changed hands, or that Auburn had any knowledge of the things that transpired in Mississippi.

They reinstated Cam for the SEC Champ and NCAA Champ, but stated the situation was still under investigation and reserved the right to bring further sanctions against him and Auburn if anything came to light.

The interesting thing is that Cecil Newton's Church received a large "donation" to refurbish his church around this time. Auburn has a booster (Bobby Lowder). He is on the Auburn Board and has been involved in several escapades (Including the dismissal of Tommy Tubberville and Terry Bowden)

Come on Don, get the facts straight. :)

His Dad asked $180-200k depending on the report. Also you missed the whole
reason he was dismissed from the University of Florida program, receiving
stolen property. Tossed a stolen laptop out his dorm room window when the
      po-po came to visit.

I expect we will hear more about this now that the season is over. My take
was the NCAA didn't want to respond too quickly and would rather pull a
Reggie Bush and go in after the fact. There are coaches at Miss State that
said he knew of the money and spoke of it in a conversation.

Like I said, Auburn Football...The Best Team Money Can Buy. What is really
amazing to me is that they were able to win a National Championship with
      Gene Chizik (Iowa State).

Cam Newton? You mean the AU QB whose dad shopped him around to the
        colleges
in exchange for $150K and he didn't know anything about it? Yup, ol' Dad
kept that all to himself. If he kept a secret like that from the son he
        was
peddling, he needs to give up his Parish and work for the CIA. I was
rooting harder for Oregon than I did for the Huskers. I suspect there is
allot more of this selling of top recruits going around than we know about.
Reggie Bush, Cam Newton, who's next. Maybe Wiki leaks can unravel this
        whole mess.

Maybe the "dog" of the game last night was Cam Newton. Granted, he's
dynamic and made some plays. But he flat out missed at least 2 TD passes
(and maybe more...I wasn't watching that closely). He makes those and this
        game isn't even close.
