So let's see, the sailor is an honorary captain, gets a jersey, and watches the Holiday Bowl from the sidelines. The comments were clearly a joke, and interpreted as such, as everyone laughed when Coach Pelini said that the good plays are his, but blame poor plays on the honorary captain.
