But the difference is, the Cubs have gotten close, and they always screw it
up. Thus, "there's always next year." Nebrasketball fans are never even
tempted by success, thus the years just seem to blend together. It's a
wholly different kind of misery. I'm not a Cubs fan, but I am a Royals fan,
so I certainly empathize with the slow demoralization that Nebrasketball
provides. We'll always have the era of Lue and the Polish Rifle, I guess.
