I think everyone needs a big time-out. We're beginning to shout at
each other over stuff that, frankly, just doesn't seem to matter much.
I said earlier this year that I don't pay attention to Bo's show or
his press conferences because he doesn't say anything other than coach
speak.
Skylar watches them all, and appears agitated that Bo is less than
truthful in all his utterances. Why does that matter? No rosey
glasses here. Just wondering. Why does it matter what Bo says? If
he tells the media something that isn't correct, is it intentional
lying just because he can, or is there a purpose to not let
information out? I don't know, but more importantly, I don't care. It
wouldn't matter anyway. The media guys acknowledge this; for
instance, they knew going in to the recruiting conference call that he
wasn't going to answer any questions about staff. Being good media
guys, they asked anyway. I don't blame them for that, nor do I think
they're purposely trying to make him look bad, unhinged, or mean. I
wish Bo was better at addressing the media, but he isn't. Doesn't
drop my opinion of him much. I also wish the media guys would lay off
the jokes about Bo's poor performance behind the mike, because that
doesn't win games either. They want somebody deeper and more
thoughtful about the philosophical meaning of having an inept offense.
Bo sees stuff that doesn't work, wants to fix it, and doesn't want to
talk about it with those folks, because the team isn't going to get
better if he does. Its a worthless exercise.
Maybe they should hire Ari to be the mouthpiece. Those media events
would be lots of fun to listen to, because there's a man who can't
shut up. Worthwhile? Uh, not so much. But entertaining.
