Looks like I have to once again swoop in to correct things.

Zac Lee WAS hurt. I'd take it from a trainer. He couldn't put any zip on the
ball at all. Could he have played? Very iffy. Would he have been better than
what we knew we had prior to the game? Probably not.

He didn't see the Carl incident when asked the first time. He was going off
what Carl told him. Go ahead and be mad at Carl for lying to Bo though. I'd
also like to see your link to where Bo said he lied. A cite or byline will
do if you can't find it.

He also said that he wasn't going to name a starter until game day, all
through fall camp, but reporters kept asking him. BTW, they split reps all
through fall camp.  Taylor didn't start running with the 1's exclusively
until Tuesday of game week. Not sure I see where he was lying even according
to your irresponsible speculation.

You need to pull the transcript from the teleconference and re-read it
Skylar. That's not how the questioning went or was asked. He also said he
wasn't there to address anything other than recruiting. He said this several
times. Smart people know this is a pre-emptive "no comment". Reporters don't
apparently.

He hadn't seen the app ad, and obviously didn't know it was State policy.
What he did say QUOTE: "I don't know, I haven't seen it...maybe its for an
intern position or something"  Someone asked about something he hadn't seen,
and yet they castigate him for his guess being wrong? 

I'm REAL tired of people spreading just believing everything they hear. Take
a moment, do your OWN research. Don't just regurgitate stuff you hear off of
message boards.

Bo's job will be much easier if people remain objective and resist the
hyperbole.

Haha, OK Steve.

You really believe he wasn't lying???  Put down the cool-aid man.  He
clearly flat out lied and even said so after the fact, "Oh, we knew Monday
morning, we just didn't feel like you we needed to tell you".  That's an
admission.  Did you just gloss over that sentence?  The next sentence was
back-tracking.  Maybe if I have time later I'll find a link to the press
conference video so you can see if for yourself.  The look on his face when
he realized he just admitted to the press that he flat lied to their faces
on Monday was pretty funny. 

I quoted that as just one example.  There were several more of these
(especially as it pertains to the starting QB).  

- He said Zac Lee's hand was hurt so he couldn't play, but yet Zac said it
was fine (he really just had been stuck in the doghouse) and he was ready to
go.  

- He flat lied about Carl's incident with the camera guy and admitted to it
later.  

- He said all through fall camp (up to the day or two before the game) that
he didn't know who the first week starter would be and all 3 QBs were even,
yet all the players said it was obvious in practice and TM had been getting
all the snaps with the 1s for a week and a half.  

- How about recently when it's clear that Corey Raymond was coming to NU?
Bo's good friend, the HC at Indiana Kevin Wilson said that Corey's joining
the NU defensive coaches.  When asked about it, Bo said he had never talked
to Raymond.  When asked if his good friend lied, he said something to the
effect of, "I know him very well, he's a good guy".  He was then asked if
they could take his good friend's comments as truth, he said, "You can do
whatever you want".  Why can't he just say, "I can't comment on that."??  

- How about when he was asked about the job posting on the UNL website that
said "Offensive coach, responsibilities involve creating weekly offensive
game plans and play calling."  To which Bo said, "That's an intern
position".  REALLY BO???  WE'RE GOING TO HAVE AN INTERN CALL PLAYS????

Want me to keep going?  I can.   Those are just the obvious ones that don't
require any research at all.

But if it makes you feel better, go to the beach and dig yourself a head
size hole in the sand.

I certainly understand holding things back from the media and I have ZERO
problem with that.  I still to this day have no idea why Cody Glenn or Phil
Dillard were in the doghouse and I don't have any problem with that.  He
handled those perfectly and just told the media, "We're not going to comment
on that".  Done.  No need to lie.  

I love Bo.  I think he's a great coach.  I think he SUCKS with the media and
you can see it all over his face that he thinks they are a giant waste of
his time.  His P.R. skills are lacking.  It's part of his job, but winning
will cover that up at least for a while.

I see nothing in your post to support your extreme contentions of
"propensity to flat out lie ... OVER and OVER."

In fact, even your centerpiece example doesn't support your insult.
If the question was, as you write: "Who's starting QB on Saturday."
Then, the answer: "I'm not sure yet." is fully accurate, because as
you quote Pelini later: "You never know, things can change throughout
the week."  For example, in a contact sport, injuries are common.
In dealing with young men, rules violations and eve legal incidents
occur.  It sounds to me as if it was just as Pelini said: the coaches
were planning to start Martinez but didn't want to have it in the
media, so he said he wasn't sure who would start because things can
change.  And, that's the truth, not a lie.

If the examples of "OVER and OVER" "lies" that your "good sources"
told you about are as solid as this one, then I suggest you should
spare yourself the effort of writing about them and us the trouble
of reading and dismissing them.
