[Husker] Shatel: Pelini Making Calls to NFL for Watson

I'll chime in here briefly.
There is clearly a rift between Pellini and SOME of the media. Part of it
is from lack of information and only doing interviews once in a month and a
half. And the other part is his propensity to flat out lie to the press
(which he's done OVER AND OVER).
Here's an example of what I'm referring to:
Monday before the Big XII title game
Media: "Bo, who's starting QB on Saturday?"
Bo: "I'm not sure yet."
Media: "When do you expect to know?"
Bo: "What time's the game on Saturday? (laugh) We won't know that until the
end of the week, it's an ongoing competition."
Saturday after the Big XII title game
Media: "Bo, at when did you know Taylor was going to start"
Bo: "Oh, we knew Monday morning, we just didn't feel like you we needed to
tell you....(pauses, clearly thinking about what he just said) I mean, you
never know, things can change throughout the week."
I've heard from some pretty good sources that Bo has lied several times when
talking about Taylor Martinez (like for instance two 'excused' absences that
were actually 'excused' after the fact).
That's my only issue with him (and I believe that's the root of the issue
some reporters have with him).
OK, that's my lone injection.

You're probably right. I could be off on this. Pelini and the local media
may be good, I just get the feeling they are not. Not sure what you mean
about the Pelini looking better and fans and commentators looking foolish.
How Pelini looks all comes down to wins, and that's what we all want
ultimately.
