[Husker] SEC vs Big12

I'm glad that Nebraska has moved to the Big10++ and wouldn't have minded
seeing Texas arrogance blamed for the demise of the Big12--.

But the Big 12, far from collapsing as many predicted, seems to be doing
quite well. In fact, I'm annoyed by the love affair with the SEC and
claims that they are the strongest conference.

Sagarin has the Big 12 as clearly the best conference and has the following:
Big 12 (10 teams) vs SEC (12 teams)
     2 2 # in top-5
     2 2 # in top-10
     6 3 # in top-20
     7 5 # in top-30
     8 8 # in top-50
So even with fewer teams, the Big12 has more in the top-20 and top-30
and as many in every other "top" category as the SEC.

Looking at the pre-bowl Sagarin rankings, the predicted performance of
the each conference is
Big 12 6-2 vs SEC 5-4. The Big 12 is already 5-1 while the SEC has just
started (1-0 with 2 games being played today).

  Alabama 98.03 vs LSU 99.75
Kansas St 82.69 vs Arkansas 85.33
Stanford 93.87 vs Oklahoma St 96.36
Michigan St 85.54 vs Georgia 83.09
  Nebraska 83.44 vs S Carolina 83.55
Ohio St 77.61 vs Florida 76.52
  Virginia 68.32 vs Auburn 70.45
  Texas A&M 87.67 vs Northwestern 72.42
  Cincinnati 77.25 vs Vanderbilt 76.45
Rutgers 75.45 vs Iowa St. 74.33
Miss St 76.26 vs Wake Forest 68.15
  Iowa 75.32 vs Oklahoma 93.87
  Washington 73.93 vs Baylor 84.27
  California 79.46 vs Texas 83.86
  Missouri 85.47 vs N. Carolina 73.68

GO BIG RED!

Andy
