While Nebraska has open dates, they already have one non-conference away game already scheduled for all of those seasons. I don't Nebraska is going to pass up the $5 million payday for home games to go on the road for a second non-conference game in any season.
That being said, as we go past 2017, having two home and homes against a Pac-12 and Big XII or SEC foe each season is compelling.

Nebraska plays UCLA the next two years and has open dates in subsequent
years, but has Miami and Tennessee on the schedules for each of the
following two-year cycles. Adding an PAC12 team in those four years
would make for pretty good schedules. For Nebraska, it would be nice
to be able to play some neighbors CU, KU, KSU, ISU, or Missouri, but
this will be a great addition to the schedules.
