Speaking of recruiting and NFL-readiness…

i'm always surprised at the number of starting NFL players - particularly
quarterbacks, who did NOT go to a major 4 year school. Every time they do
the player introductions, and a guy will say, "Joe Smith, <Direction>
<Direction> <Random State> College", i'm like, "how did 110 major colleges
whiff on *this* guy?

there may be something to having that chip on your shoulder that comes with
being off the radar, i don't know. but it just underscores what we can all
agree on: this recruiting / ranking business is, as they say,
"Directionally correct", but that's about it.
