But the newly named head coach, Urban Meyer, is the one the waiver was requested
for, so he could work on recruiting issues, and he is not working on bowl prep.
That's not the situation I was alluding to. I stated that I was not aware of
a school at which a newly named head coach worked that school's bowl game.
I'm still unaware of any instance of this.
Michigan isn't very happy about the OSU wavier.

Let's see if Michigan's NCAA rep proposes a change to NCAA Bylaws to remove
this waiver possiblity in the future.
The whole bowl game practices situation is rife with issues. All schools
get the same number of bowl game practices, but some schools play their bowl
games more than two weeks after the start of bowl season, which begins on
December 17th this year. And with OVER HALF of the 120 FBS schools playing
in bowl games, the 'exception' is now the school that DOESN'T get those extra
practices.
